Hotel Valentino is located on Piazza Spirito Santo, just off Via
Etnea, in the historical centre of Catania. A short walk down Via
Etnea brings you firstly to University Square, where the
local architecture will blow your mind, and then to the
Duomo – the nucleus of the city and enduring symbol of Catania.
The Duomo, or Dome, is that of the Cathedral of Saint Agatha, the
patron Saint of Catania. The square in front is the vibrant heart
of the city, where special events take place periodically around
the famous statue of an elephant which graces the centre of the
piazza.
In the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Valentino you’ll find
some of the best nightlife in Italy, as well as some of the finest
shopping in the city on Via Etnea and at the nearby markets, not
to mention the stunning Teatro Massimo Bellini on Piazza Bellini.

How to find the Hotel Valentino
In few words, you’d take a 5 minute stroll up Via Etnea from
the Piazza Universitá then turn right at Via Montesano, passing
between two Irish pubs before you reach Piazza Spirito Santo. Public
transport is fairly limited because Catania is reasonably modest
in size and so walking is the most convenient form of transport.
Alternatively, if you have a lot to carry a taxi for tourists costs
€10 per journey within the city.
Many people choose to drive around Sicily, and indeed Italy, in
a rental car. If this is your intention we strongly advise
you to deal with a reputable, preferably international car hire
company.
If you’re flying into Catania Fontanarossa Airport you can
get a bus (Alibus No. 457) to the city centre in about half an hour.
Buses and trains roll into Catania Central Station on Piazza Giovanni
XXIII which is a short walk or taxi ride from the hotel.
